Directory-wide online review
Sedona Location Source Audit
A transparent record of the October 3, 2026 online source review for all 520 directory listings.
Results at a glance
Another 28 websites loaded without enough identity evidence, and 220 records remained unresolved because the site was blocked, unavailable, timed out or otherwise could not be evaluated. Eighty-seven encoded website URLs were normalized. One clearly unsafe, repurposed restaurant domain was removed from the public listing.
Category results
| Directory | Records | Name + location | Partial match | Inconclusive | Unresolved |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Restaurants | 185 | 72 | 36 | 11 | 66 |
| Lodging | 101 | 56 | 12 | 2 | 31 |
| Attractions | 72 | 14 | 13 | 1 | 44 |
| Shopping + services | 162 | 42 | 27 | 14 | 79 |
Method
Each record was checked for a name, city, state, postal code, map destination, coordinates and listed website. An automated request then sampled that owner or agency website and looked for business-name evidence and location evidence such as Sedona, the street number or postal code. Redirects and response status were recorded. Public directory labels summarize the result without exposing technical logs to ordinary visitors.
What the audit does not prove
This was not an in-person inspection, phone call, licensing search, ownership investigation or independent two-source confirmation. A text match cannot guarantee current hours, service quality, accessibility, safety or even operating status. A blocked or JavaScript-rendered website can produce an unresolved result even when the place is operating. Conversely, an old website can remain online after a business changes.
For those reasons, all listings keep separate Website, Directions and Reviews links when available. Outdoor decisions should also use the responsible land manager or public agency. Readers are asked to confirm time-sensitive details directly before travel.
Notable corrections
- The legacy Fay Cafe domain had been repurposed for unrelated gambling content, so the Website button was removed. The directory record remains, with map and review links, because an unsafe domain alone does not establish that the local business closed.
- Out of Africa Wildlife Park was identified as the only mapped listing outside the Sedona-area bounds and is now labeled as a regional Camp Verde day trip rather than a Village of Oak Creek attraction.
- Encoded question marks and query separators in 87 website fields were repaired, and safe same-domain HTTP-to-HTTPS redirects were retained.
- Several sources returned error, index or unclear redirect pages. Those records remain labeled inconclusive or unresolved instead of receiving an unsupported correction.
